Deliver on the promise to your customers...Pop-A-Lock and the Canadian Military

I was interviewed this week on a story about Canadian Military personnel and their transition to the civilian workplace.  I was asked why Pop-A-Lock is keenly interested in attracting military personnel as either an owner (franchisee) or as an employee in one of our locations.  In order to better answer that question, I did a little homework online and found this article about The 8 common traits of military personnel that are not so common in the civilian workplace.  As I read through the article, I was encouraged to see the very characteristics we look for in owners and employees were similar to what military personnel exemplify.  A few months, Brent Foster joined our team to lead the Simcoe County marketplace.  Brent lives and breathes these traits everyday.  We are blessed to have him on our team and most importantly serving the customers of Barrie, Orillia, Bradford and surrounding communities.  Here are some of the similarities...

Dependability - Critical to the success of our operation.  Follow through to the end, regardless of the task.  Brent shared me a few weeks ago he was working on a Honda ignition. Took most of the day due to the previous state of the vehicle.  He ended up completing the job. We know people have busy lives. Showing up when we say we will be there is critical.

Integrity - "It's a big deal to lie in the military.  When you lie, people die".  Okay, we are not that dramatic, but we do expect to take full responsibility for our actions.  Integrity and trust create peace of mind for our customers and clients.

Tenacity/Adaptability - A lot of the work we do, doesn't always look or happen to go as planned.  Vehicles can be tricky with on board diagnostics and computers, office buildings can be quirky and even a front door of house can have it's challenges.  Our locksmiths have "emotional fitness".  Assess the situation and be a problem solver.

Professional Presence - Grooming standards are important to the military and they are important to us.  We show up in a clearly marked Pop-A-Lock vehicle and in a locksmith uniform.  We greet our customers and clearly explain the next steps.  We don't do anything without their approval.

Pop-A-Lock offers discounts to military personal through the CFAppreciation site and franchise savings if acquiring a territory across Canada.  For more information, contact me, Pete Crouse at petecrouse@popalock.ca.

Congrats to our military personnel and thank you for your contribution to our society.
